Chris LeBlanc

Chris LeBlanc, a.k.a Chris Crash: Bad boy Acadian filmmaker

Chris LeBlanc has been behind the camera for 25 years, directing documentaries, fiction series, webisodes and building a unique niche in the acadian entertainment world. A Concordia University graduate in Cinema, he has been one of the pioneers of the VHS Genration that grew up with video in the 80's, broadcasting his first TV show at age 24. With C.H.E.P.A. Chris LeBlanc and his partner Paul Bossé set the stage for a new creative wave with this anthology show featuring music by Les Païens. This was followed by Lunatiques, a sci-fi children's show that again pushed the envelope of narrative form and featured the acadian Chiac dialect long before it was featured in other popular works. Over the years Chris LeBlanc won several distinctions for various documentaries such as Liberateur Libéré, Désoriental, Les Larmes Du Lazaret, but it is with La Légende Bricklin that he is most associated. As anyone can tell you, Chris drives the green Bricklin featured in the film, a stunt that sets LeBlanc apart from other acadian fimmakers. Other than his agility as a cameraman or his use of fiction in documentaries, he is known as a consumate performer, documenting his lifelong adventures in a soon-to-be-released webseries called Stock en Acadie. Chris LeBlanc is also a tireless mentor who has worked with young filmmakers and who recently released 2 Faces which earned some notoriety in Acadian media because of its use of street slang.
